Position Description :The Director of Professional Development will provide leadership to the Professional Development Department, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive training programs for new and current employees, foster/adopt parents, and the community. This role is crucial in maintaining high standards of training that align with DePelchin's mission to support children and families. The Director of Professional Development will also work collaboratively with program teams, the evaluation team, state agency partners, SSCC partners, and a network of local organizations to ensure all training initiatives meet contractual obligations and achieve desired outcomes. This role will be responsible for coordinating the training and skill-building components of DePelchin Children’s Center and the Texans Together implementation strategic initiatives such as Texas Child Centered Care (T3C).

Primary responsibilities include:

Leadership and Management: Lead the Professional Development Department, providing strategic direction and oversight. Hire, manage, and develop training staff to ensure effective delivery of training programs.Training Development: Oversee the creation and implementation of annual and monthly training calendars. Ensure all training plans comply with DePelchin Children's Center policies, Texans Together policies, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) minimum standards, federal, state and/or grant regulations, and Council on Accreditation (COA) requirements.Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with various stakeholders, including new and current employees, foster/adopt parents, and community members, to identify training needs and develop appropriate programs.Collaboration and Compliance: Work closely with program teams and the evaluation team to ensure training initiatives meet contractual obligations and achieve desired outcomes. Ensure all training activities adhere to the highest standards of compliance and best practices as outlined by relevant regulatory bodies and accreditation requirements. This position will also act as the primary liaison with state and community partners on training and skill building.Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Professional Development Department by regularly reviewing and updating training content and methodologies based on feedback and emerging best practices.Required Qualifications :

Bachelor’s in social work, education, business, marketing, training, or human services fields.Seven (7) years experience in child welfare or training.Preferred Qualifications :

Master’s degree in human services or education field.Ten (10) years experience in child welfare or training.Certified TBRI Practitioner or other trauma-informed care certification.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Knowledge of adult learning styles and public speaking techniques.Expertise in child trauma, abuse, neglect, the foster care system, and populations served by DePelchin Children’s Center.Proficient in business and marketing principles, and skilled in the creative use of PowerPoint and technology for presentations.Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities, researching regulatory updates, and being able to translate that information into potential trainings.Effective supervisory abilities, capable of inspiring and motivating a diverse Training Team, and overseeing new training topics.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to deliver presentations and maintain professional licenses, with mobility for physical training sessions.Demonstrated ability to lead collaborative efforts with multiple partners both within, and outside, of your direct oversight.Demonstrated ability to effectively manage budgets in alignment with available resources and in achievement of programmatic goals.Work Conditions :
