As they continue to expand, they are seeking an accomplished Vice President of Battery Engineering to lead their innovative cell development projects.Position Summary:The Vice President of Cell Development will be a pivotal figure within the organization, spearheading the research, development, and commercialization of advanced lithium-ion battery cells. This role demands a strategic visionary with extensive technical expertise in battery chemistry, materials science, and electrochemistry, coupled with the leadership skills to inspire and manage a diverse team of scientists and engineers.You will focus on the development of next-generation battery technologies: Lithium Metal, Silicon Anode, and Solid-State batteries. From materials up to cell level.Key Responsibilities:Formulate and execute a comprehensive cell development strategy that aligns with the company's vision and objectives.Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of scientists, engineers, and technical staff.Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the cell development team.Oversee the design, development, and optimization of lithium-ion battery cells, focusing on performance, safety, cost, and manufacturability.Initiate and drive research projects exploring new materials, chemistries, and cell architectures.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cell development with overall battery system design.Manage multiple cell development projects, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and adherence to budgets.Utilize project management tools and methodologies to track progress and mitigate risks.Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments in the battery sector.Represent the company at industry conferences, workshops, and consortiums.Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, academic institutions, and research organizations.Collaborate with external partners to drive innovation and accelerate product development.Experience/Qualifications:Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 10 years of experience in lithium-ion battery cell development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Deep understanding of battery chemistry, materials, and cell design principles.Proven track record of leading successful R&D projects from concept to commercialization.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.Experience with advanced characterization techniques and electrochemical testing methods.Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to lithium-ion batteries.Why Join Our Client:Opportunity to work with a team of passionate experts dedicated to advancing energy storage technology.Competitive salary of $300,000 and comprehensive benefits package.A dynamic, inclusive, and innovative work environment.The chance to make a significant impact on the future of sustainable energy.Sounds like you?
