CA-Milpitas Position Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer reports directly to the Engineering Manager. Support manufacturing/production floor activities; tracks and executes the build process through the manufacturing floor. New product layout and manufacturing instruction development and implementation. Performs data collection to drive continuous process and equipment improvement and root cause corrective actions. The Manufacturing Engineer may perform a variety of tasks in accordance with their training, experience, and skill. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: • Take direction from and/or work with the Program Manager on product or customer-related activities. • Interface with customers to understand requirements and criteria to ensure meeting customer expectations. • Generate Pre- and Post-DfA/DfM analyses and reports for the product. • Review and approve NPI preparation process. • Support production floor from pilot run up to mass production, including troubleshooting and correcting issues as needed. • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing and assembly processes and methods to obtain maximum productivity levels. • Perform data collection to drive continuous process and equipment improvement and root cause corrective actions. • Support and/or generate process control plans and Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA). • Provides global support for other company plants. • Makes capital equipment recommendations. • Assists with the development of new automated processes using available hardware and software. • Prepares activity reports and other data input as required. • Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned. Qualifications Required/Job Specifications: • Seven (7) years of Manufacturing or Process Engineering experience in a contract manufacturing environment of PCBA and mechanical assemblies. • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience. • Experience with Product Documentation, Soldering Process, Value Stream Map, MTM, Ergonomic Studies. • CAM Software proficiency. • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret technical documents. • Strong communication, coaching, listening, and interpersonal skills. • Must be self-directed, dependable, and motivated with excellent relationship and time management skills. • Demonstrated effective leadership abilities required. • Proficient with MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
