Description

Position Overview:

The Wire Desk Associate is responsible for supporting the wire processing needs of the bank and its clients, ensuring a smooth and compliant process for the sending and receipt of wire transfers.

Essential Job Functions:

Provides wire support to all areas of the bank and it's clients as directed or where needed; demonstrates superior customer service with appropriate follow through with involved customers and employees.Prepares wires to ensure accuracy and proper documentation of transactions.Review all outgoing wires for adherence to the banks wire approval policies, including validation of account balances, validation of proper approval, OFAC list matching, etc.Make outgoing calls to clients as necessary to validate wire requests.Review of all incoming/outgoing wires for fraud trends.Posting of all incoming wires to the appropriate account(s).Performs related clerical duties such as answering the telephone, taking messages or forwarding calls, copying, typing routine letters, envelopes and forms, and filing.Actively upholds the organization's vision, mission and values, encompassing mutual respect, honoring commitments, working with integrity and accepting responsibility for own actions.Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to EEO policy, shows respect and sensitivity for cultural differences, promotes working environment free of harassment of any type.Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.Has a strong commitment and dedication to internal and external customer service.Requirements

Qualifications:

Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from 2 year college or technical school; or 5 years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of a financial institution, accounting, or bookkeeping background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies.General banking and accounting experienceKnowledge of wire transfer process and best practices preferred.Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; word processing and spreadsheet software programs.Typing skills to meet production needs of the position.Intermediate math skills; calculate interest and balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; count currency, coin and negotiable instruments in a timely manner.
