The Business Development Rep is expected to call on specified existing customers, present new concepts and products, provide solutions to sales problems, develop a new customer base and develop sales forecasts. This individual is responsible for the planning and coordination of account activity, generating sales opportunities, and reporting the status of accounts on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, pursue, and deliver new business opportunities with new and existing customers that drive profitable revenue and income growth

• Develop business through multiple marketing and sales techniques including but not limited to cold calling, conducting in-person meetings, and partnering with vendors

• Maintain a targeted understanding of customers' business showing the ability to establish customer needs, buying cycles, and creating strong relationships to effectively drive sales and repeat business

• Dedicate 60% of time to generating new sales and 40% to account management

• Meet and exceed sales activity schedule set by supervisor

• Keep the CRM system current, accurate, and relevant

• Perform additional tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field

• At least three years of sales experience in business to business (B2B) sales

• Experience with Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Quote (RFQ) processes

• Knowledge of CRM platforms (Zoho, Salesforce, etc.)

• Demonstrated success in B2B sales with a proven sales track record

Skills/Abilities

• Possess excellent interpersonal and persuasive skills with a heart to serve

• Excellent verbal & non-verbal communication skills

• Self-starter with proven skills in negotiating and driving for results in a dynamic, complex environment

• Ability to balance ongoing accounts while capturing/closing new accounts

• Expert knowledge and proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Excellent time management

• Solution-oriented

• Active listener
