Senior Tax Accountant
Wilmington, DE or Remote-Americas
Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Are you an experienced Tax Accountant with Vertex Returns software experience? If so, we may have the perfect opportunity for you. We are currently seeking a Senior Tax Accountant for a remote role. Someone who is highly organized, attentive to detail and thrives in a fast-paced environment will do well in this position. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will primarily be responsible for Multi-State Sales Tax and Personal Property Tax Compliance. This role will also support the Direct Tax function with sales apportionment and fixed asset accounting as required.
Some of the things you will be doing:Preparation of assigned Indirect Tax returns including data gathering, generating supporting schedules/documentation, reconciling, and preparing payment requests.First-level review of assigned indirect tax returns prepared by junior staff.Maintain tax calendar to ensure all filings are completed and all payments are posted.Assist with Vertex O-Series maintenance and testing as needed.Assist with Vertex Returns maintenance, such as adding returns and forms.Assist Direct Tax with the compilation of sale apportionment data and fixed asset details as required.Interact with Finance Team on tax related issues, including Treasury, Accounting, Legal, and International Tax.Assist/mentor junior staffLead projects as assigned.Assist with tax research as needed.Partner with third party providers as needed.What technical skills, experience and qualifications do you need?
B.S. or B.A. Accounting Degree5+ years of multi-state sales tax experience5+ years of personal property tax experienceInternational Indirect experience a plus - VAT, GSTDirect Tax experience a plusPrevious mentoring experience a plusExperience Vertex O-Series compliance softwareExperience with Vertex Returns softwarePower Pivot and Alteryx experience a plusExcellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skillsDetail oriented with ability to multi-taskAbility to work independently toward accomplishing goalsDecision making and critical thinking skills including analysis and documentation/summarization of the chosen solution.Time management skills required to function within a deadline driven environment*Candidates must reside within eastern or central time zone for further consideration
