Job Description
Work in service provider networks to assist with new deployments, system upgrades, migration projects, and resolving network issues. This person will be responsible for the setup, configuration, and deployment of service provider routers, switches, and firewalls. They will also be creating and maintaining documentation, so strong communication and documentation skills are required.
Key Responsibilities:Assist in the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and other network equipment.Support the implementation of new network solutions and enhance existing infrastructure.Troubleshoot network issues, resolve outages, and perform root cause analysis.Assist with network upgrades, patches, and maintenance to ensure security and optimal performance.Collaborate with senior engineers to design and implement scalable network solutions.Maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams and configuration details.Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for network security and reliability.Provide technical support and respond to service requests from clients or internal teams.Skills Knowledge and Expertise:
Skills and Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of network protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS, IP addressing, etc.).Job based experience with routing and switching networking equipment from the following list:
Cisco ASR9kCisco NCSJuniper MXJuniper EXArista 7280
Ability to troubleshoot network problems and work effectively under pressure.Understanding of network security principles, including firewalls and VPNs.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.Certifications like CCNA, JNCIA or equivalent are a plus.Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.2 years of experience in telecommunications at carrier scale working with layer2/3 routers and switches, and data services for broadband subscribers.Preferred qualifications:
4 years of experience in telecommunications service provider core and edge networks.4 years of experience implementing services using command-line interface in network equipment.Benefits
