(NDTI) is seeking a skilled and motivated Network Journeyman to support our customer at Port Hueneme. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting enterprise-level networks, with a focus on network security technologies such as Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), 802.1x, and Comply to Connect (C2C) frameworks. This position requires strong hands-on experience with networking technologies, a deep understanding of network security protocols, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment supporting mission-critical systems. The Network Journeyman will collaborate closely with senior engineers, system administrators, and security personnel to ensure network integrity, compliance, and security.Key Responsibilities:Deploy, configure, and maintain Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control (NAC), including 802.1x authentication for both wired and wireless networks.Ensure compliance with Comply to Connect (C2C) policies by implementing network access control (NAC) standards and collaborating with security teams to enforce endpoint security before granting network access.Install, configure, and maintain network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points in accordance with established standards.Manage network devices across LAN/WAN environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.Monitor network performance using various tools, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and resolve network outages.Implement and enforce network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems.Assist in the development and implementation of network policies and procedures to ensure compliance with DoD security regulations and industry best practices.Perform network diagnostics, analyze traffic, and provide regular performance reports to senior network engineers and management.Configure and manage VLANs, access control lists (ACLs), and Quality of Service (QoS) settings.Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, security personnel, and help desk staff to provide comprehensive IT support.Participate in the evaluation and selection of new network technologies to improve efficiency, scalability, and security.Provide end-user support, documentation, and training related to networking issues and infrastructure.Maintain detailed records of network configurations, changes, and maintenance activities.Education and Work Experience Requirements:Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is required.3+ years of hands-on experience in network administration and support, with a solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, ACLs).Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networking equipment.Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, or similar.Working knowledge of network security concepts, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and Virtual Private Networks (VPN).Familiarity with implementing and maintaining Quality of Service (QoS) and traffic-shaping policies.Experience with VLAN configuration, trunking, and inter-VLAN routing.Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve issues in a high-pressure environment.A Security+ and CCNA certification are required for this position!
