General Purpose

The Director of Academic Affairs assists the Campus Director/President in administering the academic programs in a manner that serves the best interest of students, maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of the college.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

Works in collaboration with the President/Campus Director and Registrar on accreditation and state updates concerning academics.

Assists in recruiting, hiring, orienting, and training faculty and assigned staff, ensuring that assigned faculty members hold the appropriate teaching credentials.

Works in collaboration with the Instructors to contact students if they stop attending the program.

Works with Externship and Student Services Department to ensure student success and retention.

Advises assigned students and maintains student academic records and files to ensure they represent an accurate, complete, and current account of students’ academic progress.

Assists the Registrar in transcript evaluation requests to ensure that official transcript evaluations are received and reviewed with students in a timely manner.

Works closely with the Registrar in giving academic awards and other student recognition to celebrate student excellence.

Monitors communication with at-risk students to ensure their academic success.

Facilitates the grade grievance process as defined by academic policy.

Performs other duties as assigned by the President and/or Campus Director.

Healthcare related: 3 years (Preferred)

Higher education teaching: 3 years (Preferred)

Academic Affairs related: 5 years (Preferred)
