Job will require leader to be onsite at least one day per week.Job SummaryThe IT Director – Epic reports to the Executive Director and controls the business and project aspects of applications and modules of JHM software utilized for patient care and for the revenue cycle. This individual participates in the day-to-day leadership, administration, and planning of software enhancements, maintenance, and implementation of new modules or products with assistance from IT Managers, IT Leads, and Project Management staff. The position is responsible for ensuring the completion of the project plans and/or the component parts if assigned to a specific area of oversight. This individual is accountable to ensure that the overall software decision-making process aligns with the governance structure, ensures that teams have enabled escalation of decisions so that they occur timely, and is an active champion and advocate for the applications that are managed and represents their applications at many forums.When assigned to Billing RevCycle Applications:In the role of Epic Director for Billing Revenue Cycle applications, this position is responsible for the oversight of the management, coordination, and architecture of revenue cycle applications in the Epic suite. These include applications related to patient identity and health information management (such as coding, scanning, and information release), along with hospital and professional fee billing. Additionally, the role involves directing the 3M/360 suite for JHHS, which includes several modules for coding, as well as documentation auditing and editing. This leader is also responsible for managing related third-party applications pertinent to this sector. Applicants should have relevant experience in some of the mentioned applications or equivalent experience at a directorial level in revenue cycle management. While not mandatory, having an Epic certification in any application and experience with Epic software is advantageous.QualificationsBaccalaureate degree in computer science, business, or clinical related field required.Minimum 10 years relevant work experience with 5 years of previous staff management experience required.Experience in running a large project from a Project Management Office perspective or managing a large project team in a large health system environment preferred.Knowledge and ability to manage and operate extremely large-scale (greater than 100,000 customers) technology infrastructures and execute strategic planning objectives.Advanced, conceptual knowledge of technologies within all areas of JHM organization.Strategic business acumen and understanding of organization strategy, with an ability to design information systems to fulfill that strategy.Knowledge of current systems analysis and design methodologies, as well as IT and healthcare operations.
