Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the CSO, the Vice President of Sales has direct responsibility for the USA and Canada Inside and Outside sales teams, as well as sales training. He/she will collaborate with all department heads and senior management to create and implement growth and development strategies that are aligned with the sales goals of the company. This position has overall responsibility for the USA/CAN sales results and the professional development of its team’s members; responsibility for developing strategic sales plans based on company goals that will promote sales growth and customer satisfaction for the organization.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Development and implementation of sales strategies that align with business objectives and drive revenue growth according to targets.

Building, constant nurturing and strengthening of solid opportunity pipelines leading to sustainable long-term growth for LAPP in the US and Canada.

Implementation of a rigorous commercial discipline and monitoring of key sales KPIs, for both inside and outside sales teams.

Responsibility for the professional development and support of the sales team members, including the development of strategic goals and holding those accountable for achieving those goals. Promotes a culture of learning and growth.

Responsible to make changes and adjust the design of the sales organization for maximum effectiveness (market coverage, penetration) and efficiency (sales and gross profit development per sales employee).

Supporting of specification print position of all LAPP products at OEM, Projects (Owners, Engineers and Contractors), Regional and National distribution partners, and Global and National key accounts.

Management of critical developing client accounts and coordinates the management of all other accounts.

Analyzes and interprets the industry, market, and competitive trends and uses that knowledge to make decisions on behalf of the sales strategy of the organization.

Supports the definition and implementation of Marketing plans in coordination with the Marketing Manager.

Creation of sales development strategies for products, industries, and markets.

Intelligence gathering on competition, markets, and customers.

Traveling to the US and Canadian Field, the NJ office and Global Headquarters (Germany) as required.

Candidate Profile:

The VP, Sales is an experienced sales leader in a private or publicly traded manufacturing or industrial distribution / automation environment. S/he has the desire to work in a transformative business environment with high organic and in-organic growth and profit expansion opportunities.

This individual demonstrates personal characteristics including high energy and ethics, tenacity, strong leadership, accountability, and result- and people-orientation.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of successful business and sales development, ideally in an international and/or matrix environment, and a demonstrated track record of providing exceptional overall business advisory, leadership and team developing/building capabilities. The VP, Sales is also someone hands-on and physically close to his/her teams, spending at least 50% of the time on the ground, mostly in the US and Canada.
