Western National Intern Program Summary:
Western National provides a robust internship program designed for individuals aiming to acquire valuable experience in the insurance industry. This program not only offers practical, hands-on opportunities and project work in partnership with our IT team; but interns will also have the opportunity to enhance their existing skill sets through a range of professional development activities, cultivate relationships with employees and fellow interns, and participate in impactful volunteer initiatives within the community.
Position Summary:
As a Information Security Intern in our internship program, you will be a key member of our IT team. Possible tasks that you will assist with include:
Monitor, and track activities and operate security software tools; gather evidence and data, document findings, and review Security Incident reportsWork with Managed Security Service Program's (MSSP) Security Operation Center (SOC) team on investigative analysisWork with the MSSP on Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) developing and refining correlation rules assigned strategic initiatives as to achieve individual and departmental goalsPerform special projects and other duties as assignedRequirements
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Demonstrated understanding of information systems conceptsExperience with information technology in a corporate or academic environmentStrong written, oral, and listening communication skillsProven ability to develop and maintain concise and accurate plans, documentation, manuals and reportsProven ability to prioritize, organize, and meet deadlinesHigh degree of discretion/confidentiality, problem-solving skills and a high attention to detailBachelor's degree in Information security or related discipline; experience in lieu of degree acceptableAbility to work onsite at our corporate office in Edina, MN.Compensation Overview:
The base pay offered for this position will be $20.00/hour.
