Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Assistant Director of CRM Marketing Technology has broad programmatic and technical responsibility for the management, development, direction, and monitoring of Admission integrated communication efforts through the utilization of Portland State University’s Constituent Relations Management (CRM) and Knowledge Base (KB) solutions.

The individual in this role will work across the Offices of Admissions to understand the impact University business practices have on individual student experiences; assist with streamlining communication across units utilizing the CRM/KB; facilitate future business unit adoption and implementation of CRM/KB, and recommend changes to unit business practices that support improved communication with students and lead to enhanced student success.

The Assistant Director supervises a Communications Technologist who executes email campaigns in the CRM and supports campaign analysis.

This is a hybrid position, with the primary work location being onsite with a regular remote work schedule. All staff working remote are responsible for adhering to the

university guidelines for remote work , including completion of a

remote work agreement .

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years demonstrated leadership in an educational setting.

At least 1 year of full-time experience working in admissions, new student programs, registration or a closely aligned area in higher education.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Familiarity and demonstrated use of student information systems/software, preferably in the Slate CRM.

Ability to independently manage and implement complex projects and business solutions with broad scope and impact and handle multiple demands, priorities and/or deadlines simultaneously.

Ability to formulate and implement strategic/innovative approaches and solutions to complex issues (administrative and technological).

Experience supervising employees: organize, train, instruct, and evaluate the productivity and performance of employees and analyze individual situations and take corrective action.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, with significant autonomy, and exercise a high level of independent thinking, creativity, and innovation.

Experience interpreting and implementing complex system-wide and campus policies.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s with 3+ years of related experience in higher education administration, student affairs, communications or related field.

1+ years supervisory experience.

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.

The starting annual salary for this position will be between $50,148 and $65,000.
