The Director of Business Development – Bakkt Loyalty Solutions will be responsible for developing and executing the business development strategy for the business. This includes sourcing, qualifying, developing joint solutions, negotiating, and formalizing the commercial relationship with Fortune 500 Enterprises that meet Bakkt’s ideal client profile. We are looking for an individual who brings experience in one or more of these domains:

Financial Services & Payments:

top brands for consumer banking, credit card, fintech or digital wallets.

Redemption / Fulfillment:

industry background in providing redemption services to loyalty, employee recognition, and/or health & wellness programs.

Loyalty:

knowledge and background working in the loyalty marketing industry via agency, consulting, or as an operator. May include sectors that provide programs such as retail, airline or hospitality.

Platforms:

Knowledge and working background with firms in consumer big tech, systems integrators, POS or loyalty platforms.

You will be a subject matter expert on the business models and offerings relevant to the brands in your domain. Demonstrating your knowledge of existing client loyalty, rewards, redemption, and payments offerings and how to position Bakkt’s B2B2C offering through the lens of the prospective client’s business objectives and embedded in their digital experiences will be key.

Reporting to the Head of Customer Success & Revenue, you’ll be responsible for developing strategies to increase market share and market awareness. In terms of the day to day, you’ll develop and evolve a land and expand new client strategy and business plan. You will drive organizational support from internal cross functional teams for all new contractual commitments.

The ideal candidate will come with an extensive network that includes strong relationships and contacts within their domain and will be a contributor to thought leadership and key industry events. Finally, success means achieving ambitious new partner acquisition targets, all with national or global brand recognition.

Qualifications

8+ years of overall work experience

Have worked with 2 or more successful companies in the above domains

5+ years of experience in enterprise business development or enterprise sales related function

Experience consistently meeting and exceeding targets and goals

Significant experience in negotiating, influencing, and presenting and influencing at executive level

Experience leading cross functional initiatives and deals within a matrixed organization

Demonstrated ability to manage several complex partner cycles concurrently

A deadline and target / KPI driven leader who is comfortable forecasting future results

Prior accountability for revenue and/or Monthly Active User targets in the tens of millions.

Located in the Atlanta area markets (remote until further notice)

Expected travel commensurate with sales activity

Experience and appreciation for the value of tracking business development leads.

Comfortable working in an extremely fast-paced, results-oriented environment

Bachelor’s degree required
