The Family Engagement Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all family engagement initiatives within the After School Program and during the school day. This role will include helping to develop successful family and school partnerships, being a coach and liaison in implementing effective family strategies to boost student achievement, working closely with the school day and after school leadership teams, organizing special events to increase family and school community relationships, and gathering and synthesizing resources for community programs and families. The Family Engagement Coordinator will also assist in YMCA special events, including Healthy Kids Day and Annual Campaigns.Minimum Qualifications
21 years or olderAssociate’s degree or higher, or High School diploma/equivalent, and any of the following: passed the District Instructional Aide Exam, CA Basic Education Skills Test (CBEST), or completed 48 college units verified by transcript (for Licensed Program sites, must meet education and experience requirements for staff set by Community Care Licensing)At least 1 year of experience working with elementary school students and familiesStrong organizational, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skillsAvailable 40 hours/week; shifts may vary Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:00 am-6:00 pm, some weekendsCurrent YMCA approved CPR and First Aid Certification (can complete upon hire)Fingerprint background check clearanceTB test clearancePreferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with teaching credential or passing score on CBESTBilingual in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, Vietnamese, or other languagesAll employees working with the YMCA are considered to have supervisory or disciplinary action relationship over minors. Job offers are conditional and contingent upon background clearance. Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance and CA Fair Chance Act, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.Benefits
