Position Summary We are actively looking to hire a full-time Staff Accountant to join our accounting team in Phoenix, AZ. This position reports directly to the Controller and is responsible for preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, general ledger, fixed assets, and some sales tax. The ideal candidate should possess experience with margin analysis, variance analysis, expense analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and inventory accounting experience is a BIG PLUS.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Assist with Multi-Company and Multi-State Sales TaxPerform general ledger analysis, variance, margin and expense analysis, and account reconciliationsCreate and analyze liability, asset, and capital accounts by compiling electronic data and required documentation.Perform detailed variance analysis on assigned accounts to understand reasons for changes and help ensure accuracy.Establish the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.Assist in working with outside audit firms during the annual auditReview, investigate, and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciling items.Assist with the month-end close of the general ledger.Lead ad-hoc and special projectsAnalyze and reconcile inventory transactions for accuracy and completeness in support of monthly financial reporting.Education & Experience
At least one (1) year of recent accounting experience.Must have knowledge of MS Office ExcelBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
