Principal Responsibilities: The Betty & Milton Katz JCC, in Cherry Hill, NJ, seeks a Deputy Executive Director who is a motivated, engaging, and collaborative professional, a relationship builder inside and outside the JCC. The ideal candidate will be an innovative programmer and a skilled supervisor, and be an integral part of the management team, reporting to the executive director. Key responsibilities focus on operational oversight for the JCC, including supervision of health and fitness, camp, early childhood, arts and culture, Jewish Life, and inclusion.
The deputy executive director is responsible for oversight of JCC programs, services and activities and provides leadership to staff in conceptualizing, organizing, and implementing programs while ensuring the goals and objectives meet the mission and vision of the JCC. This senior level position serves as the face of the JCC in the community, ensuring engaging opportunities inside and outside the JCC, and developing new and innovative ways to engage all audiences. Building relationships and making connections with staff, lay leaders, members and stakeholders is an essential part of this position, as is working closely with the Executive Director in the development of short and long range programmatic, marketing, and operational goals for the JCC as it pertains to the mission of the agency.
Minimum Qualifications: Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
Represent the JCC in the absence of the Executive Director.
Supervision, training, and evaluation of staff in health and fitness, camp, early childhood, arts and culture, Jewish Life, and inclusion.
Supervision of the day-to-day operation and management of the JCC program and support services. Providing leadership to staff in conceptualizing, organizing, and implementing comprehensive programming for all departments under supervision.
Develop, oversee and implementation of high-quality programs and activities in all areas of responsibility that ensure participation and sustainability to the agency.
Responsible for the oversight and development and monitoring of the annual program budgets and influence the business plans for general program and community outreach, ensuring fiscal responsibility, expense control as well as revenue and participation growth.
Coordination and scheduling of individual and departmental staff meetings. Review and approval of annual salaries.
Serve as a liaison with the lay committees, Federation agencies and community organizations in the Jewish community to coordinate and implement programs.
Together with the Director of Outreach and Engagement, oversee the marketing and publicity for all departments under supervision.
Together with the Director of Fundraising, investigate funding sources, donors, and grants for this sectors programming.
Coordinate the Center's participation in Benchmarking Initiatives.
Provide leadership to all personnel through management and training.

Their highly regarded South Jersey day camps, early childhood camps at the Katz JCC for children ages 2-5, and the JCC Camps at Medford for campers ages 3-14 serves well 1600 children each summer. The JCC has also become a haven for Jewish organizations, teens, older adults, and individuals with special needs.
The JCC facility includes two full-sized basketball courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and the Richard M. Klein Center for Wellness, focusing on lifestyle changes and mind-body wellness. Personal training, group exercise classes, recreational sports leagues, and the Parkinsons Connection round out an exceptional fitness program.
