NoDuties and Responsibilities

The Associate Director for the Tutoring Center provides leadership for learning assistance and academic support services in the university, overseeing operations within the Tutoring Center and its satellite operations, as well as faculty and student outreach. Reporting to the Director of Student Transitions and Academic Partnerships within Student Academic Services in the university's Student Success area, the Associate Director:Provides leadership to support services provided by the Tutoring Center; oversees day-to-day operations within the Tutoring Center, including organizational and technological systems.Hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates employees of the Tutoring Center following policies outlined by Human Resources.Directs all peer tutoring and supplemental instruction, including training, assessment, and promotion.Maintains the day-to-day function of the tutoring appointment process and related software/technology.Oversees data collection and reporting process for programming and student services usage.Prepares and delivers reports, in both oral and written formats.Plays an integral role in supporting and executing events and initiatives sponsored by New Student Programs.Identifies and implements efficiencies with other tutoring programming.Increases academic support and coverage for all campuses.Collaborates and maintains effective relationships with relevant staff, advisors, and faculty.Teaches multiple sections of UNIV seminar courses.Participates in Student Academic Services signature programs.Provides recommendations for annual budget and office expenditures.Researches, shares, and adopts best practices in academic support and learning services.Conducts outreach to faculty, department chairs, and deans for program expansion.Implements the strategic and assessment plan for the Tutoring Center.Analyzes high-enrollment and high-DFW-rate courses.Develops and evaluates Tutoring Center programming.Develops and implements policies and procedures for the Center.Develops marketing and communication plans for Tutoring Center services.Investigates ways to support the university's efforts for retention, student success, and graduation.Represents the Tutoring Center on University committees.Performs related duties as required.Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

Master's Degree in higher education or related field and knowledge of learning and tutoring theory. Five years' experience.Qualifications

Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, or related field required; knowledge of learning and tutoring theory; plus 5-7 years of management, leadership, and program development experience.Solid understanding of learning theory and academic support strategies and services.Experience developing and implementing student programming at the post-secondary level required.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with faculty, staff, and students.Supervisory/managerial experience, high degree of initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.Dedication to student success and providing student-centered services.Certificates/Credentials/Licenses

Technical proficiency in use of computers and software applications such as Microsoft Office 365.Proficiency in student information systems; Oracle PeopleSoft preferred.Proficiency in data reporting tools; familiarity with Microsoft PowerBI preferred.Proficiency in student success platforms; familiarity with EAB Navigate360 preferred.Prior administration or understanding of tutor scheduling software preferred.Supervisory Responsibilities
