The Diabetes Center is looking for someone who can perform routine laboratory and general clerical tasks necessary for daily operation of laboratory. Collects, prepares, cleans and stores glassware and other lab equipment. Stocks and prepares media, reagents, chemical solutions and stains.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.The salary range for this position is $21.47 - $25.29 (Hourly Rate).Department Description
Unique among diabetes facilities nationwide, our Diabetes Center unites the research, clinical care and education aspects of diabetes into a comprehensive program to improve the quality of life of those living with diabetes.Required Qualifications
Lab Ast 1:Graduation from high school or a General Education Diploma and one year of laboratory experience or two years of college including courses in the natural, physical or social sciences; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.Lab Ast 2 - in addition to the above:Two years of laboratory experience, or two years of college, including courses in the natural, physical or social sciences and one year of laboratory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience;Some experience with performing laboratory work.Be able to read/write and follow direction.Be able to lift heavy boxes of lab supplies.Preferred Qualifications
