Position Overview

The Scientific Director will be the key scientific lead on a particular account, providing editorial, scientific, and strategic expertise to client teams.

The Scientific Director will manage content development for all forms of media (abstracts, monographs, slide kits, content for symposia/focus groups, patient education/advocacy, global branding etc.) for pharmaceutical clients, mentor junior team members, assist in new business development, keep the team abreast of all current competitive intelligence, develop strong relationships with key opinion leaders, lead the team in identifying pertinent research related to the client's product & help identify potential new business opportunities.

This is a high-profile position requiring previous experience working closely with pharmaceutical clients & their medical teams.

Responsibilities :

Assume individual responsibility for clinical content development across print, live, and digital formats, in accordance with established budgets, timelines, and strategic objectives.

Demonstrate in-depth scientific knowledge in one or more therapeutic areas and serve as scientific lead on assigned accounts, providing strategic direction and leadership.

Continuously monitor the marketplace and provide updates & recommendations to management on disease-specific advances/guidelines/competitor activity.

Ensure that projects reflect a thorough understanding of clients’ product strategy and communication objectives and that scientific statements are supported appropriately.

Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively explain & teach others.

Participate in medical/legal/regulatory reviews as needed.

Interaction with senior level scientific management, internal teams & clients.

Strong presentation skills for internal client meetings and new business presentations as appropriate.

Qualifications & Experience :

5+ years of experience in medical content development for print, digital, and live programs within Medical Communications agency setting.

Preferred: An advanced degree in science or public health (preferably PharmD, PhD, MD), or equivalent experience in medical communications/medical publishing.

Experience in, and ability to understand, multiple therapeutic areas, and the effective use of multiple delivery platforms.

Demonstrated ability to interpret data and provide strategic/scientific direction to clients.

Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical standards, compliance, and regulations.

Excellent communications skills (oral, written, presentation).

Strong self-motivation and enthusiasm with demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly detail-oriented environment.

Ability to manage projects with limited direction and work within tight deadlines as required.

Pay: $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
