Head of Financial Planning and Analysis - Mid-Sized SME Lender

Job Description
Buckden Partners is working with a leading SME Lender. They provide loans from £1m to £20m using pioneering data, personal relationships, and a pragmatic and flexible lending process.
You will report into the CFO and will provide timely and accurate financial analysis, reporting and cash flow management for investors and shareholders.
The post holder will be an integral part of a finance team and a broader team covering finance, operations, risk and legal.
Responsibilities
Own and develop the long term budget planning tool. Be the focal point understanding the drivers of business performance and its linkage to the planning model
Oversee and produce company financial reporting including monthly board packs and consolidated reporting to investors in line with contractual timelines
Create detailed short and medium term cashflow forecasting
Be the company expert on the investment cash flows within the business and our SPV vehicles
Run the annual budget process liaising with and influencing the group executive team (incl CEO, MD, CFO, CTO etc)
Improve cost control by managing cost centre reporting and business partnering
Own the cost budget and monthly spending and seek to optimise the cost income ratio
Develop and implement financial KPIs around the business as appropriate, including for example in monthly reporting, lead to fund process etc
This is a very hands on role, with significant interaction with the senior management team
Presentation of analysis to internal and external stakeholders
IDEAL CANDIDATE
BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience
Qualified Accountant with considerable post qualification experience
Financial Services experience a must have, banking/investment experience a strong plus
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint Skills
Ability to create and financial performance at a board level
Ability to work to deadlines/under pressure
Accuracy and attention to detail
Aptitude for problem solving
Team player
Intellectually curious
Robust cool and calm personality
