Senior Product Marketing Manager

with deep expertise in the restaurant technology industry to drive the marketing strategy for our flagship products: Cake POS and Concierge, as well as our expanding portfolio of companion products and services.

This role is critical in ensuring our product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies resonate with our target audiences in both the restaurant and retail sectors. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Sales, and other departments, to ensure our products meet market demands and exceed customer expectations, while also supporting the successful launch and adoption of new products in development.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Positioning & Messaging:

Develop and refine product positioning and messaging for Cake POS, Concierge, and companion products and services. Leverage your industry expertise to create messaging that resonates with restaurant owners, operators, and retail businesses, ensuring consistency across all customer touchpoints.

Go-to-Market Strategy:

Lead the development and execution of go-to-market strategies for Cake POS, Concierge, and upcoming companion products. Collaborate with the digital marketing manager, social media person, and other team members to ensure these strategies are effectively implemented and adapted as new products are introduced.

Sales Enablement:

Create and deliver sales enablement tools that help the sales team effectively sell our suite of products to restaurant and retail customers. This includes industry-specific product presentations, competitive analysis, and tailored messaging that highlights the integration and benefits of our companion products.

Market Research & Insights:

Conduct deep market research within the restaurant and retail sectors to understand customer needs, competitive landscape, and industry trends. Use these insights to inform product development, marketing strategies, and the rollout of new companion products.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

Act as the primary liaison between the Product and Marketing departments, ensuring that product marketing strategies for Cake POS, Concierge, and companion products are aligned with broader marketing initiatives and business goals.

New Product Launches:

Partner with the product development team to support the successful launch and adoption of new companion products and services. Develop comprehensive launch plans that include positioning, messaging, and promotional strategies tailored to the restaurant industry.

Mentorship:

Provide leadership and guidance to the current Product Marketing Manager and their team, helping to develop their skills in strategic thinking, market analysis, and product marketing execution, with a focus on the restaurant and retail industries.

Performance Monitoring:

Develop metrics to measure the success of product marketing initiatives for Cake POS, Concierge, and companion products. Regularly review and analyze the performance of these initiatives to drive continuous improvement and adjust strategies as needed.

Qualifications:

Experience:

7+ years of experience in product marketing with a strong focus on the restaurant and retail industries. Proven track record of successful go-to-market strategies for POS systems or similar products.

Industry Expertise:

Deep understanding of the restaurant industry, including trends, customer behavior, and competitive dynamics. Experience in the retail sector is also highly desirable.

Strategic Leadership:

Proven ability to lead product marketing strategies that drive business growth. Experience mentoring and developing less experienced team members.

Communication Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling product narratives and present to senior stakeholders.

Analytical Thinking:

Ability to translate complex data and insights into actionable strategies. Experience with market research and competitive analysis is essential.

Collaboration:

Excellent ability to work cross-functionally, particularly between product, sales, and marketing teams.
