Job Responsibilities
York Technical College is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to serve as the Director of our Child Development Center. The Director will be responsible for the overall administration, leadership, and management of the Center, ensuring the highest standards of early childhood education and care. This position involves developing and implementing educational programs, maintaining licensing and accreditation standards, supervising staff, and fostering a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for the children of our students, employees, and greater community.
Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Child Development Center.
Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that supports the growth and development of every child.
Develop, implement, and evaluate early childhood education programs that meet the developmental needs of children.
Ensure compliance with all licensing and accreditation requirements, including maintaining the Center's National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation. Lead the implementation and management of programs such as South Carolina First Steps 4K, ABC Quality, and other state and federal initiatives aimed at improving early childhood education.
Supervise and mentor a team of early childhood educators and support staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and program guidelines.
Oversee the financial management of the Center, including budgeting, resource allocation, and maintaining risk management solutions.
Collaborate with parents, faculty, and the community to promote the Center’s mission and objectives.
Stay informed on the latest trends and best practices in early childhood education to continually enhance the Center’s programs and services.
Minimum and Additional Requirements Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field and at least three years' experience in a leadership position of a childcare facility.
Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field or a Master's degree with 18 credit hours in Early Childhood Education.
