As the Head of Startup Investor Relations, you will play a pivotal role in supporting early-stage startups by identifying sources of private capital and brokering connections with investors. While FedTech does not directly invest in startups, you will focus on facilitating strategic relationships between startups and potential investors, including venture capital, corporate venture, private equity, family offices, and angel investors. Additionally, you will collaborate with the data and marketing teams to track key success metrics and develop case studies that demonstrate impact and value. Typical functions include: Capital Sourcing & Investor Relations Management
Develop and execute strategies to connect startups with private capital, focusing on non-adversarial funding, and serve as the primary contact for investor relations. Support startups in refining pitch materials, business models, and financial forecasts, while facilitating introductions and acting as a trusted advisor throughout the fundraising process. Manage investor outreach, organize meetings and events, and track fundraising milestones, providing strategic feedback to improve investor engagement.
Portfolio Company Success & Strategic Support
Manage relationships with internal venture program managers and facilitate connections with private equity, venture investors, angel funds, and family offices. Work closely with startups to identify challenges, growth opportunities, and strategic goals, providing tailored advice on business development, go-to-market strategies, and capital deployment. Support startups with content creation, training workshops, and preparation for key milestones like Series A and beyond, while coordinating with external advisors and legal teams.
Ecosystem & Partnership Development
Build and maintain a network of 50+ investors, venture capitalists, private equity firms, and key players in the startup ecosystem. Interface with 20+ industrial partners annually and collaborate with accelerators, incubators, and industry partners to provide additional resources and expertise to startups. Develop relationships with high-potential startups, stay current on investment trends and defense-related markets, and ensure alignment with investor expectations.
Data-Driven Insights & Success Tracking
Collaborate with the data team to track startup performance metrics, including financial growth, customer acquisition, and operational metrics. Monitor industry trends and investment patterns to provide strategic advice on optimal fundraising strategies. Analyze performance data to identify success stories and areas for improvement, and create reports to present findings to internal teams, investors, and stakeholders.
Case Studies & Marketing Collaboration
Develop marketing collateral for investor relations, including presentations, newsletters, and blog posts, and use case studies to enhance brand credibility and attract high-potential startups.
Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:
7+ years' experience in venture ecosystems, with significant experience in supporting startups through the fundraising process. Completion of a bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with a range of investors, including venture capitalists, corporate ventures, private equity firms, family offices, and angel investors. Strong background in developing and executing effective fundraising strategies, including identifying and securing private capital. Has an existing network of investors/industry partners Ability to build strong relationships with a diverse set of people Relentlessly drives towards action (testing, measuring, iterating) Our Values:

Base salary range: 150-170k based on education and experience. Opportunity to earn a performance-based bonus, along with the ability to earn equity.
