Overview:
As a Director of Revenue Cycle specializing in Urology, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of our Urology practice. Your expertise in revenue cycle management within the context of Urology services will ensure accurate billing, efficient collections, and compliance with industry regulations. You will lead a team of revenue cycle specialists to optimize revenue capture, minimize denials, and enhance the financial performance of our Urology practice.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize the revenue cycle process, improve cash flow, and maximize revenue generation.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of revenue cycle professionals, including billing specialists, coders, patient account representatives, cash posters and insurance verification specialists, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Revenue Optimization:
Analyze billing and reimbursement data to identify opportunities for revenue enhancement, process improvement, and cost reduction. Implement best practices to ensure timely and accurate billing, coding, and claims submission.
Denial Management:
Develop and implement strategies to reduce claim denials and maximize reimbursement rates.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, payer guidelines, and industry standards related to billing, coding, and revenue cycle operations. Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations and reimbursement policies.
Performance Monitoring:
Analyze performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the performance of the revenue cycle. Analyze performance data to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
Technology Utilization:
Evaluate and implement revenue cycle management technology solutions to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance revenue capture. Provide training and support to staff on the use of revenue cycle systems and tools.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with other departments and clinical teams to ensure alignment of revenue cycle goals with organizational objectives. Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders, including payers, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in revenue cycle management, with 3 years in a leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of healthcare reimbursement systems, billing processes, coding principles, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and operational data.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proven track record of driving revenue cycle performance improvement and achieving financial goals.
Proficiency in revenue cycle management software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
