Job Summary:

The Behavioral Health Director of Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for overseeing the financial operations related to the revenue cycle for our behavioral health services. This role ensures the efficient and effective management of billing, collections, and reimbursement processes, while maintaining compliance with regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of behavioral health services, revenue cycle management best practices, and will lead a team to achieve financial targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the revenue cycle operations, including patient registration, eligibility verification, billing, collections, and accounts receivable management.

Develop and implement strategies to optimize revenue cycle performance, reduce denials, and improve cash flow.

Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue cycle metrics.

Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations, as well as payer requirements, to minimize revenue loss.

Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure accurate coding and documentation of services provided.

Train and mentor revenue cycle team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Maintain relationships with payers and negotiate contracts to ensure favorable reimbursement rates.

Stay current with industry trends and changes in regulations affecting behavioral health revenue cycles.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of experience in revenue cycle management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a behavioral health setting.

Strong knowledge of billing and coding practices specific to behavioral health services.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Proven ability to lead teams and drive results in a fast-paced environment.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

Proficiency in revenue cycle management software and electronic health records (EHR) systems. CollabMD and Kipu
