JOB TITLE : Food Safety Quality Assurance Director

JOB SUMMARY :
Responsible for driving process improvement, and ensuring all specifications are defined and communicated throughout the company. Effectively leads and develops Senior QA Manager, as well as 1st and 2nd Processing FSQA Managers and Supervisor. Ensures that the Company meets all federal, state, local regulations, and audit certifications.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/ACCOUNTABILITIES :
Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards including but not limited to: Good Manufacturing Processes, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Safe Quality Food (SQF).
Develop and guide FSQA Managers and Supervisors and provide them leadership tools and training as needed.
Assist management in creating new policies as well as developing and refining existing policies and procedures.
Direct and perform quality audits in accordance with FDA, USDA, and company policy.
Verify quality policies and procedures being conducted by all plant personnel. Prepare and deliver documentation and various evaluation reports on results.
Oversee HAACP, Sanitation, Pre-Operation, and various Food Safety programs and conduct annual validations.
Perform plant evaluations and direct daily workload to Managers, Supervisors, and QA Technicians.
Coordinate food safety improvements and policy reinforcements with multiple plant departments and their associated leadership.
Monitor and update plant safety documentation.
Monitor plant environmental testing.
Oversee vendor and all other third-party services, as well as negotiate terms and conditions.
Promote a safe, secure, and positive work environment for all employees.
All other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors’ Degree in Quality Management, Food Science, Poultry, or another related field.
Minimum of ten years of food manufacturing experience.
Minimum of seven years in a supervisory capacity.
Poultry manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
POSTING REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of Federal and State Food regulations.
Knowledge of regulatory and quality system requirements.
Knowledge of compliance with governmental agencies, including, but not limited to USDA FSIS, FDA, NDEQ, OSHA, FDA AND DOT.
