The Director of Human Resources is responsible for all Employee and Labor Relations functions in the Las Vegas Region. This includes oversight of all employee investigations, enforcement of union contracts, advice, counsel and HR support to all levels of management, training and developing of the HR Integrity & Performance/Culture staff, HR training for all levels of the Operations staff, managing the grievance, mediation and arbitration processes, making employment decisions in resolution of team member performance and conduct issues, handling outside agency issues, frequent interaction with multiple unions concerning collective bargaining issues, participation in collective bargaining and other employee issues and concerns.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Lead the HR Integrity organization with methods and actions that are ethical and in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies.

Ensures that fair employment practices and company policies are applied consistently and fairly and the properties are in compliance with all legal and company policies.

Serves as a dynamic and energetic leader, while fostering teamwork, employee morale, motivation and open communication. Inspire employees to go beyond the expected.

Decisive and timely issue resolution. Act on information and adapt when necessary and appropriate.

Identify compliance risks and take actions necessary to eliminate or minimize risks.

Champion, within the organization, a commitment to honesty, integrity, and responsible corporate behavior.

Create a compliance culture within the organization and foster an environment where employees feel comfortable reporting potential violations or misconduct.

Interpretation of company policies/procedures/practices and/or union contracts.

Reinforces performance management skills and capabilities of supervisors, managers, and directors.

Responsible for oversight of all team member investigations and responding to inquiries from various federal and state outside agencies.

Responsible for development of staff to ensure company's continued leadership through their efforts.

Inspire confidence and build a range of influence through authenticity and strong internal and external relationships.

Consistently demonstrates excellent communication skills, establishes and maintains relationships with team members at all levels of the organization to provide both team members and managers accurate feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years of experience in Labor Relations/Employee Relations with Human Resources supervisory experience required.

Strong background in Labor Law with previous experience with union contracts, mediation and local unions, preferably in the hospitality/casino industry.

Previous experience negotiating Collective Bargaining Agreements preferred.

College Degree or equivalent in work experience is required. Master’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred.

General knowledge of Human Resource Management and the gaming industry.

Knowledge of National Labor Relations Act, Equal Employment, Affirmative Action and Title VII laws required.

Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, communication (verbal and written), project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills required.

Proven record of training, leading and motivating people.

Strong knowledge of work card and other compliance requirements.

Monitors legal compliance with federal, state, and gaming laws.

Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.

Displays an upbeat and positive attitude.
