Coordinate and procure ingredients, mixes and finished products to meet R&D needs on a daily basis. Maintain Pilot Plant & all equipment working closely with Pilot Plant Manager. Manufacture mixes and finished products to support various R&D projects as needed. Assist Pilot Plant Manager with recommendation and development of vision and strategic plan for the Pilot Plant.

Responsibilities:

Assist with the recommendation and development of the vision and strategic plan for the Pilot Plant and new equipment acquisitions.

Assist with writing and maintaining SOPs for Pilot Plant equipment and participate as requested in training of R&D personnel in operation of various pilot plant equipment and processes. Have the authority and responsibility to enforce all SOPs.

Responsible for pilot plant sanitation and conducting equipment and environmental testing in accordance with corporate QA guidelines.

Assist Pilot Plant Manager in performing or coordinating preventative and breakdown maintenance of all pilot plant equipment. Maintain R&D vehicle(s).

Manage dry storage area keeping adequate inventory of all ingredients, packaging material and other supplies while ensuring quality and safety compliance.

Perform set-up, operation and cleaning of various Pilot Plant equipment and manufacture mixes and finished products as needed to support R&D projects.

Determine needs for all on-going projects in R&D and obtain ingredients, mixes & finished products as needed while ensuring quality and safety compliance.

Responsible for receiving incoming packages for R&D and notifying recipients. Procure packaging material and supplies including dry ice and assist in shipping products as needed.

In addition to the responsibilities listed above, other duties may be assigned by your supervisor, as dictated by business necessity.

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma.

Requires a minimum of 4 years of mix processing or operations experience in a dairy or related field.

Knowledge - Core understanding of Wells product ingredients. Understanding of Warehouse methods. Understanding of the sanitation process.

Skills - High level of organizational skills required. Able to prioritize tasks that have greatest impact on the business first.

Abilities - Ability to communicate effectively and positively with people across the organization. Ability to work independently of direct supervision. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
