Purpose:

The fundamental role of a Staff Accountant is to prepare and review financial documents, reports, and statements. A Staff Accountant oversees all accounting procedures (e.g. tax returns, month-end closures, budgeting) and advise on general financial matters.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Extensive General Ledger WorkReview the monthly P&L to ensure accuracy of expenses & review account analysis on Balance SheetPerform monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and bank reconciliations across multiple companiesOwnership of the monthly close process with agreed upon key metricsResponsible for the monthly financials - Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow & Forecast, Inventory Reconciliation and ForecastTrack all incoming invoices for accuracy in the AP processMatch invoices with pre-approved PO's for paymentSubmit invoices/PO's for accounting input into the A/P systemTrack all incoming payments against the A/R reportManage all the archived financial recordsReceive and input received transplant records (TUR cards) for tracking purposesInventory Management and inventory counts/auditsExtensive data entry in the inventory systemWeekly AR reporting to key partnersAssume ownership of various administrative functions as assigned from the company's Director, Partners and VP of FinanceCollaborate with various departments (donor intake, production, distribution) to ensure proper recording of raw materials through production and distribution is maintained.Prepare financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance.Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.Perform monthly bank settlements.Prepare necessary documentation for external auditors.Assist with establishing internal controls.Ensure company financial health is maintained by building and using financial models for cash flows, income, and balance sheet accounts.Assist Director of Financial with manufacturing and finished casting and trackingStarting job duties on time, staying on the job throughout the assigned shift to complete duties properly, and attending all scheduled meetings and appointments.Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of Accounting PracticesFamiliarity with ERP Systems and GAAPAbility to ensure the completeness and accuracy of inventoryAbility to prepare financial statementsAbility to interpret data with strong analytical skills and make informed decisionsCritical thinking skillsAccounting organizational skillsExcellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracySelf-motivatedStrong and effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teamsAbility to work in a team environment or independently as neededExperience working with Microsoft programsGood knowledge of Excel a mustGood knowledge of Quickbooks and/or other accounting softwareAbility to document work with legible handwritingAbility to secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance.Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting3+ years of experience in accountingExperience in Quickbooks
