A law firm in Reston, VA, is seeking an experienced Employment and Labor Attorney to join their fast-paced advice and counsel practice. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of broad experience in employment law counseling, with a strong work ethic and a desire to support the team. The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package and encourages professional growth in a dynamic environment.Key Responsibilities:Provide legal counsel on employment law issues, including statutory and regulatory compliance (e.g., FMLA, ADA, wage and hour laws).Advise clients on executive employment and separation agreements.Offer counsel on employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions.Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related documents, including contracts, policies, and handbooks.Assist clients in managing employee relations issues such as performance management, terminations, workplace investigations, and accommodations.Conduct training for management and employees on employment law issues.Represent clients in employment-related litigation and administrative proceedings, such as before the EEOC or state labor boards (litigation experience is a plus but not required).Stay current with federal, state, and local labor and employment laws, providing proactive updates and recommendations to clients.Collaborate with colleagues across other practice areas to support integrated client services.Required Qualifications:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Active Bar admission in Virginia (or eligibility for admission).3-5 years of broad experience in employment counseling, including experience with:Statutory and regulatory compliance.Executive employment and separation agreements.Employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
