Position Overview:The Bourassa Law Group is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Lead Criminal Defense Attorney to lead our growing criminal defense practice in Las Vegas, Nevada. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of all aspects of criminal law, significant trial experience, and a proven ability to manage and direct cases from intake through resolution. This is a senior-level position that requires exceptional leadership, legal expertise, and a strong commitment to defending the rights of our clients. Lead and manage the criminal defense practice, ensuring the highest standards of legal representation.Case Strategy & Direction:
Develop and implement effective case strategies, overseeing all phases from client intake to trial.Client Representation:
Represent clients in all criminal matters, including pre-trial hearings, plea negotiations, trials, and appeals.Team Collaboration:
Work closely with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys to ensure thorough preparation and execution of defense strategies.Legal Research & Documentation:
Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents as necessary.Client Communication:
Maintain strong, clear, and compassionate communication with clients, providing them with an understanding of their legal options and case progress.Courtroom Advocacy:
Serve as lead counsel in court, presenting compelling arguments and ensuring the best possible outcomes for clients.Mentorship:
Mentor junior attorneys and staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional growth and development.Qualifications:Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in criminal defense law, with extensive trial experience.Licensing:
Active membership in good standing with the Nevada State Bar.Skills:Strong leadership and management abilities.Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.Ability to handle a high caseload while maintaining attention to detail.Proficient in managing complex cases and legal issues.Excellent negotiation skills and experience with plea bargaining.Personal Attributes:High ethical standards and a commitment to justice.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to earn client trust.Compensation:The position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package including:
