News-Press TV, LLC, a cluster of television stations consisting of CBS, NBC, FOX, The CW, Telemundo, and a 24/7 News and Weather channel in St. Joseph, MO, is accepting applications for a full-time Technical Director/Master Control Operator.
Technical Director
responsibilities include:
Directing live newscasts and operating the audio/graphics board.
Recording programs and commercials from multiple sources.
Switching programs on-the-air.
Accurately logging all broadcast materials.
Tagging syndication and network promos.
Collaborating with the marketing department on various projects.
Filming and editing occasional news image promos.
Performing other duties as needed.
Master Control Operator
responsibilities include:
Operating and maintaining all master control equipment, including servers, automation systems, and routing switchers.
Monitoring on-air signals to ensure quality and compliance with FCC regulations.
Coordinating live and recorded programming with production teams.
Ensuring communication with external stations regarding issues and discrepancies.
Proficient computer skills are a must for this position, as is the ability to think, act, and work quickly in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or similar editing programs is also required. Live news experience is considered a plus.
