Job Description:

L3Harris is looking for a Senior Manager of Program Scheduling to lead our Program Master Planning Department in Salt Lake City. An onsite presence will be required due to the nature and scope of the role. As a manager of a professional program planning team, the selected candidate must have experience with the scheduling discipline, as well as the leadership qualities necessary to foster collaboration among executive management, team members, and the programs they support.

Essential Functions:

Job duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Be the organizational lead to initiate a collaborative campaign across the equivalent levels of management.

Advocate for team and products, ensuring business rhythms support skills and time to generate metrics and forecast abilities.

Ensure major projects, program schedules, and plans are horizontally and vertically integrated across company functional groups.

Track plans and schedules, perform risk analysis, identify and resolve critical path and network logic conflicts.

Utilize Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, Earned Value Management (EVM), and other project management techniques to assess progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas.

Prepare, develop, and coordinate the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) to meet all program objectives.

Ensure schedule products are compliant with the latest Government, Corporate, and Sector requirements and cover gaps in process/knowledge within the team organizational structure.

Implement scheduling best practices as prescribed by industry, including but not limited to: IPMDAR DI-MGMT-81861C, IPMR DI-MGMT-81861A, Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Critical Path Analysis, Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA), Schedule Performance Analytics, and Schedule Health Analysis (DCMA 14-Point, DECM metrics).

Drive change management and ensure adoption and acceptance of change (i.e., analytics, process, innovative efficiencies).

Manage and develop a team of program schedule analysts and reporting managers.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience; Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience; or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience directly related in Project Schedule and control required; the primary tool utilized will be MS Project Server.

Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) practices, Project Planning/Coordination, and Production Scheduling.

Ability to work within tight deadlines and multi-task various projects in an organized manner.

Prior experience in engineering and operations/manufacturing environment; military contractor/Aerospace & Defense industry background is preferred.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Knowledge of engineering processes, principles, and practices; knowledge of risk management concepts and risk analysis related to master schedules.

Ability to work well with cross-functional teams in a support as well as mentoring role.

Prior management supervisory experience is preferred.

Knowledge of DoD EVMS Guidelines (ANSI-748-D), Integrated Product and Process Development (IPPD), and Integrated Program Management Report (IPMR).

This position requires daily use of multiple software applications such as Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, and Microsoft Project; therefore, the individual must possess proficient PC skills.

The ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing, is essential.

Knowledge of MRP and scheduling principles and practices as well as working familiarity with engineering, manufacturing, and production processes.

In-depth knowledge of Product Life Cycle.

Advanced Schedule Analysis background.
