Job Title: Production Coordinator - LayoutLocation: Central London Studio with occasional travelReports to: Department ManagerContract type: Full-time, Approx. 1-year (with potential to extend)This role requires a UK based Right to Work. The Company aims to bring together experiences, world class creative leads, Europe’s animation and design talent and global premiere digital production facilities to produce competitive quality family films and high-end series for global commercial release through their distribution partners. Our first feature Ron’s Gone Wrong for 20th Century Studios and Disney was released to critical acclaim in 2021. We are working on promoting our second feature film That Christmas written by Richard Curtis for release later this year. Currently in production is Bad Fairies, a musical set in London with Warner Bros.LSA is an Equal Opportunity Employer who agrees not to discriminate against any employee or job applicant because of race, colour, religion, national origin, sex, physical or mental disability, or age.Key Purpose of the Job:As a Production Coordinator in the Layout Department, you will work closely with the Department Manager (DM) to ensure the layout team have all the necessary materials and information for production. You will track scenes from storyboards through previs, layout, and vendor delivery, co-ordinate the department artists' workload, and monitor sequence progression using deadlines set by the DM’s schedule. You will communicate any changes or challenges in a timely manner and be responsible for conducting regular reviews, tracking notes between departments and vendors, as well as organising deliverables utilising project management tools. You will be the principal production liaison between your team and other departments. Our ideal candidate is a confident communicator with excellent time management, organisational and interpersonal skills with great attention to detail. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the making of a major animated feature film.Responsibilities:Work closely with the Department Manager to support the needs of both in-house and remote artists, ensuring the smooth workflow of the department.Co-ordinate and track the progression of assets and sequences through the previs and layout department, ensuring delivery schedules are met and raising any unexpected changes or difficulties in advance.Track progression and feedback between departments and vendors.Schedule and prepare meetings.Drive reviews for the previs and layout department ensuring that feedback is incorporated, and revisions are completed in a timely manner.Assist the DM and Head of Department (HOD) in organising and prioritising tasks.Serve as the central point of contact for internal teams and communicate closely with other coordinators to ensure effective cross-departmental collaboration.Draft and manage distribution of all production paperwork, including creative notes, launch materials and turnover dates.Update and maintain production data via the film’s production-tracking database (Shotgrid).Check-in with artists regularly to ensure consistency of communication.Support use of production management systems and approval workflows.Requirements:Minimum three years experience at an Animation or VFX studio, ideally within a shot department.Well-versed in all aspects of the CG animation pipeline and industry best practices.Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through, the ability to function under pressure and to meet deadlines with a sense of initiative and accountability.Knowledgeable and effective communicator across the production pipeline.Highly organised and resourceful with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.Ability to respond promptly and effectively to multiple requests while adapting flexibly to frequent changes in production schedules.A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to anticipate potential issues and address them before they impact the department.Ability to follow direction, work autonomously, and in a team.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).Proficiency in Shotgrid is highly preferable.
