Our client, a leading multinational grocery chain with operations across multiple countries, is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer to join their executive team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of a major player in the global retail industry.

The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, tax, and investor relations. The CFO will play a crucial role in developing and implementing financial strategies to support the company's growth objectives while ensuring financial stability and compliance across all international operations.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic financial leadership and partner with the CEO and other executives to drive the company's overall strategy and performanceOversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes across all global operationsManage the company's capital structure and funding strategies, including relationships with banks and other financial institutionsLead financial risk management efforts, including foreign exchange, interest rate, and commodity price risksEnsure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements across all operating countriesOversee the preparation of financial statements, regulatory filings, and tax returnsLead investor relations activities, including communications with shareholders, analysts, and potential investorsManage the finance, accounting, and treasury teams across multiple countriesDrive continuous improvement in financial processes and systemsProvide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making, including mergers, acquisitions, and new market entriesOversee the company's real estate portfolio and strategy

RequirementsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferredProfessional qualification such as CPA, CA, or equivalent is a bonus15+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 8 years in senior leadership rolesSignificant experience in the retail or consumer goods industry, preferably with international operationsStrong understanding of financial markets, capital markets, and international financial regulationsExcellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organizationProven track record of driving financial performance and implementing strategic initiativesExperience in managing complex, multi-country finance operationsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools

Preferred QualificationsExperience with digital transformation and e-commerce financeKnowledge of sustainability reporting and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiativesMultilingual capabilities
