Overview

The Insurance Coordinator is responsible for the ongoing documentation requirements of new and existing patients' insurance benefits verification to ensure accurate treatment estimates.

Responsibilities

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Liaise with insurance providers to elucidate patients' coverage and to resolve disputes about rejected pre authorizationsPrioritizes and processes incoming Insurance Verifications, Referrals, and Prior Authorization requestsVerifies member/patient eligibilityEnsures insurance carrier documentation requirements are metUnderstands and can explain dental and medical insurance plan benefits.Effectively communicate with others, including physician offices, insurance companies, patients, and others about insurance benefits and costs associated to procedures.Handles multiple assignments or pieces of work at one time. The capability of working within a stressful environment under consistent deadlines, pressures and interruptions.Qualifications

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge of dental/medical benefits and breakdowns a plus

Proficient computer skills
