ROLE OVERVIEW

The Sr Scrum Master facilitates and champions the agile software development process by coaching and mentoring development teams, identifying and eliminating impediments, and promoting the use of standards and best practices. The Sr. Scrum Master ensures the smooth operation of agile processes and activities and is responsible for leading daily stand-ups, backlog prioritization meetings, and retrospectives. Sr. Scrum Masters can provide coaching outside of the scrum team, assess their team's agile maturity, deliver small amounts of training when needed, apply systems thinking or various scaled approaches, collaborate with other Agile Coaches, and be an active participant in a Community of Practice or Agile Center of Excellence.

Required Experience:

Experience as a Scrum Master in a SAFe frameworkExperience using Azure DevOps (ADO)Experience in the financial services industry3+ years of demonstrated successful experience in a Scrum Master roleProject Management experience a plusSome Experience working in a coaching capacitySome experience designing and delivering small training sessionsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Agile Scrum Mastering and FacilitationAbility to serve 1-2 agile teamsTeach and coach teams and Product Owners on agile frameworks and ensure agile best practices are being usedLead teams, stakeholders, SMEs and Product Owners through sprint zero discovery and initial product backlog development to ensure teams are set up for successOrganize, schedule, and facilitate all scrum ceremoniesTrack and communicate key metrics, such as team velocity and sprint/release progress with, and to all relevant teams, stakeholders, and managementResponsible for team's effective usage of agile tracking systems such as JiraCoach individual team members when needed and facilitate discussion and conflict resolutionIdentify and reduce external team dependenciesDetermine and remove obstacles that may interfere with the ability of the teams to deliverPromote continuous improvement and help teams to improve workflow, increase productivity, and deliver on outcomesPromote a collaborative team environment that fosters creativity and innovation CoachingAbility to coach product owners and business leaders and business stakeholdersAbility to design and deliver small training courses when neededAbility to apply a systems thinking or scaled approach when neededAbility to assess the team's and organization's agile maturity and determine which agile practices to applyAbility to collaborate with other coaches and be an active participant in a Community of Practice or Agile Center of Excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training:

-Bachelor's degree in Business / Marketing / Finance / Operations / Computer Science or related field required

-Advanced Scrum Master Certification required (A-CSM or PSM II)

-CSP, SSM, and CSPO certificates are a plus

-Coaching certificates are a plus (ICP-ACC, SAFe SA, CTC, CAC)
