Job Description:

The Director will be responsible for cultivating relationships and increasing the financial commitments of existing Teach supporters in the $1,800 – $25,000 donor range, as well as inspiring new community members to become significant financial supporters. A successful Director has a proven track record in sales, client relations, fundraising, or a similar field.

The Director is also responsible for growing a strong grassroots movement focused on advocacy and voting. As part of a growing community engagement team, the Director will be supported by the state and national office. This is a Hybrid position and reports to the North NJ Director. Applicants must live in the Metrowest NJ area. The office is in Teaneck, NJ.

Essential Functions:

Create and execute a plan aimed at increasing community engagement and growing Teach’s revenue through solicitations, donor cultivation and stewardship

Build and sustain strong relationships with donors and inspire them to increase their investment in our work

Identify, cultivate, and solicit new donors

Meet quarterly and annual fundraising goals

Identify, recruit and develop lay leadership for leadership roles

Provide regular updates that inspire people to become more involved in Teach’s policy and advocacy work

Maintain accurate and up-to-date moves management records in the CRM system, including logging communications and meetings.

Engage community members in action alerts, voting, events and other advocacy activities

Represent Teach at community events and forums

Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years of work experience in sales/fundraising or a related field with a successful track record of achieving and exceeding goals

Ability to pivot quickly to address rapidly changing situations

Highly motivated self-starter who can initiate and maintain contacts, relationships, projects, meetings and events

A problem solver, able to visualize and articulate solutions using an analytical mindset

Ability to prioritize, work independently and complete multiple assignments with attention to detail in fast paced, rapidly changing environment

Teamwork skills

Ties to the Metrowest Jewish community and schools

Strong commitment to Jewish education and advocacy

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Bachelor’s degree preferred or commensurate experience
