The OpportunityOur Operations & Strategy team is expanding. We’re looking for a builder and doer, a teammate who is motivated by a mission and wants to put their imprint on a scaling company.We are looking for an Associate Director, Strategy and Operations to work directly with our Chief Operating Officer (COO) to drive the company’s growth and operations, including the operations of the clinical diagnostics laboratory.In this newly created position, you will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction and operational effectiveness of the company. Meaning: you bring a bias to action and know how to Get Stuff Done. You’ll work hand-in-hand with our COO to oversee and drive all aspects of the clinical laboratory including strategic planning, resourcing, and operations to ensure superb execution for partners and customers.In addition, you will collaborate with our business operations functions (such as Finance, Legal, Project Management) to enable the business to continue deliver on plan with exceptional quality as we rapidly grow and scale. This will be a continuous process and because you bring a growth mindset, you know there will be more iterations along the way.You’ll lead our annual budget process and ongoing tracking to plan to support strategic planning and prioritization decisions.Identify and lead execution of opportunities for continued strategic and operational improvement to enable the continued rapid growth of the company.As a connector and collaborator, you’ll lead efforts to optimize ways of working across the entire organization for effectiveness and efficiency.Support execution and optimization of continuous improvements to our data infrastructure and security position as we continue to grow and mature.Drive highly cross-functional sample management and planning processes to ensure high quality, on-time delivery of results for customers and internal R&D efforts.Support the COO in planning and development of materials for key internal and external meetings, including BOD meetings, Leadership offsites, Investor meetings.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a core life science discipline such as biology, genetics, or related field; Masters or Ph.D. preferred.Minimum of 5 years of strategy and operations experience within the diagnostics (preferred) or biopharma ecosystem; experience with oncology clinical genomics, epigenomics, and/or liquid biopsy applications strongly preferred.At least 2+ years of management consulting experience in the life science sector strongly preferred.Operational understanding of external innovation, drug discovery, translational and development processes in a diagnostic context.Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate across all levels of the organization expected.Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders, with proven track record of leading through influence.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and cooperatively in a creative, entrepreneurial and agile team environment.Proven experience in taking initiative to problem solve and drive key outcomes required.We believe in building an inclusive and balanced team.
