Maintenance Director

We are a skilled nursing facility located in Bergen County, New Jersey, seeking a maintenance director to be responsible for the overall maintenance operation of the Center. Additional responsibilities include:
Supervising the maintenance department including performing “hands on” maintenance and repair work.
Keeping the building in good repair and free of electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling systems hazards.
Maintaining the fire alarm and emergency generator system in good working order, performing weekly tests on the fire alarm and emergency generator systems, and keeping records of test results.
Orienting and instructing all maintenance personnel and recruiting and interviewing new hires.
Reviewing and evaluating personnel’s work performance and designating work assignments and duty schedules.
Ensuring that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individual’s needs and rights.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school degree or equivalent and basic training in electrical, plumbing, heating, and HVAC systems.
Ability to perform essential job functions and maintain equipment.
Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills and supervisory experience.
Knowledge and operational implementation of life safety code regulations.
Ability to work well with others on a variety of professional levels.
