Head of CollectionsJob SummaryUnder the general direction of the Head of Collections and in close collaboration with the Museum Librarian, the Archivist works across museum departments to preserve, arrange, and make accessible the institutional records of the Honolulu Museum of Art (HoMA). The Archivist provides research services and reference assistance, upholds archival best practices and standards, and directs the museum’s records management and retention program.Minimum Qualifications:Advanced degree in Archival, Library, or Information Sciences from an ALA-accredited program.Three to five years of demonstrated experience processing archival materials within a museum, historical society, or related cultural heritage institution.Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with current archival cataloging standards and management systems.An understanding of emerging technologies and preservation strategies for digital and analog collections.Understanding and ability to stay abreast of privacy, confidentiality, copyright, and other legal requirements associated with institutional records.Knowledge of and experience with retention policies and scheduling for cultural or non-profit institutions.Experience with space planning for archives.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.Honesty, integrity, enthusiasm, perspective, and a strong work ethic supported by commitment and follow-through.Ability to work within and support a diverse community of visitors, artists, and employees.Excellent communication skills and analytical ability.CompensationThe Honolulu Museum of Art is committed to practicing salary transparency. The minimum salary for this position is

$60,000 per annum

and the maximum salary is

$67,000 per annum.
