Job Summary:

The Continuous Improvement Director is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. This role focuses on enhancing operational efficiency, quality, and performance through the application of Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies. The Continuous Improvement Director will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements, develop strategies, and implement changes that drive business success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Planning and Leadership:

Develop and execute the organization's continuous improvement strategy in alignment with business goals and objectives.

Provide leadership and direction to continuous improvement teams and initiatives across the organization.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence throughout the organization.

Process Improvement:

Identify, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities for process improvements using data-driven analysis and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

Lead and facilitate process improvement projects from inception to completion, ensuring measurable results.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve quality and efficiency.

Training and Development:

Develop and deliver training programs on continuous improvement tools, techniques, and methodologies for employees at all levels.

Mentor and coach team members on the application of Lean Six Sigma and other continuous improvement methodologies.

Build internal capability by developing and certifying Lean Six Sigma practitioners within the organization.

Performance Management:

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor and measure the effectiveness of continuous improvement initiatives.

Conduct regular reviews and assessments of continuous improvement projects to ensure alignment with business objectives and desired outcomes.

Report on progress, successes, and challenges to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Change Management:

Drive organizational change by promoting a continuous improvement mindset and fostering employee engagement in improvement efforts.

Develop and implement change management plans to ensure successful adoption and sustainability of process improvements.

Address resistance to change and provide support to teams during transitions.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with senior leadership to align continuous improvement initiatives with strategic priorities.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing regular updates on improvement projects and initiatives.

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to support continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification required; Master Black Belt certification preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in continuous improvement, process improvement, or operations management.

Proven track record of leading successful continuous improvement initiatives and driving measurable results.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Experience in change management and building a culture of continuous improvement.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Proficiency in using continuous improvement tools and software, such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, DMAIC, and statistical analysis tools.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position may require occasional travel to various company locations and partner sites.

The role is typically performed in an office environment, but may also involve working in manufacturing or operational settings as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to sit for extended periods and perform work on a computer.

Occasional lifting of training materials and equipment may be required.
