As the

Director Finance, Construction Controller

at Micron Technology, Inc., you will partner with Vice President of Global Facilities and Construction to manage multi-billion annual construction and facility capital spend and deliver projects globally that are critical to Micron’s continuous growth. This is an ideal position for an experienced finance leader accustomed to working in a fast-paced multi-national environment where strategic influencing and outstanding business acumen are critical skills.

You will support strategic decision making, optimize capital allocation, and drive process efficiency. You will work closely with the construction and facilities team, operation planning team, procurement team, as well as the frontend and backend finance controllers, to scrutinize the global construction budget and spend, balancing the need to ensure that critical investments are made at proper scale and in a timely fashion to support Micron’s long-term revenue growth while meeting high ROI, capital efficiency, and cash flow requirements.

You will report to Micron’s Vice President, Global Operations Finance, and collaborate with global departments within Finance (Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Tax, Treasury etc.) and across the company at all levels of the organization (including C-level) to help optimize Micron’s financial performance.

We are looking for a senior leader with a track record of controlling construction capital spend, driving operational performance and process improvement, and demonstrated ability to attract, hire and retain top talent. You will be comfortable working in a dynamic, iterative environment that also affords the stability of a global, well-established and competitive technology company.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Drive for best-in-class construction and facility cost by understanding competitive benchmarks, establishing internal objectives, and driving accountability throughout the organization.

Optimize capital allocation with the goal of maximizing return on investment (ROI) for the company.

Collaborate with the global construction and facilities team and global procurement team to identify areas to optimize construction spending through industry analysis and should-cost modeling.

Ensure compliance with GAAP, Micron accounting policies and practices, and other relevant rules and regulations.

Partner with finance and operations stakeholders to develop and implement new systems and processes to improve efficiency and meet changing business needs.

Collaborate with other leaders and teams inside and outside the global Finance organization to develop highly effective working relationships.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or related field. MBA preferred.

Additional professional qualifications (CPA, CFA, CMA) preferred.

Expertise with managing and overseeing the financial aspects of construction spend for global manufacturing sites.

At least 15 years of work experience in Finance, Accounting, Financial Controlling or related fields in the manufacturing industry (electronics manufacturing, semiconductors or other high-tech industries preferred).

At least 10 years of leadership experience, ideally in globally dispersed teams.

Preferred location will be Boise, ID or San Jose, CA.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is: $137,000.00 - $276,000.00.
