The purpose of the Upward Bound Counselor is to provide personal, academic, and career development counseling to low-income potential first generation college students by equipping participants with the necessary skills to successfully matriculate to post-secondary institutions of their choosing.Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in counseling/Guidance, Education, or Social Work.Minimum of 1 year of counseling or teaching experience.Understanding and familiarity with computer applications and word-processing functions.Eligible for Licensure in field of study (i.e. counseling, social work).Preferences:

Two years experience with administration of counseling assessments.Additional Certifications:

Eligible for National Certified Counselor (NCC) and state licenses as professional counselor (LPC).Physical Demands:

Sitting for extended periods of time. Viewing computer screen and keyboarding. Ability to operate standard office equipment. Some walking and driving. Some lifting of light weight boxes of college brochures and manuals. No other unusual physical activity required.Posting Information:
