The Director of Underwriting is responsible for the management and coordination of the underwriting department, and for ensuring the profitability for the credit union. This position will report to the Vice President of Lending.Responsibilities
Planning and monitoring: Overseeing the activities of underwriting staff to achieve department goalsImplementing processes: Establishing procedures and controls to improve the profitability of active accountsDeveloping philosophies: Creating and enhancing underwriting and risk management philosophies and controlsManaging profitability: Ensuring business results and managing profitabilityEnsuring compliance: Working with the lines of business to ensure appropriate actions and timelines are being followedCoaching and mentoring: Working with the underwriters and branch staff to ensure consistencyLocation
This position will be located in Portland.Minimum Requirements
A bachelor’s degree, and/or relevant certificationsProficient in Microsoft Office ProductsStrong ability to develop relationships internally and externally.Advanced critical thinking and analytical skillsRisk-based decision making, problem solving and conflict resolution skillsExcellent oral and written business communication skillscPort Credit Union takes pride in providing our members with exceptional personalized service in a friendly, team-oriented environment.
