geo cgi is looking for GIS Developer to design, develop, and deploy geospatial applications and capabilities for a large U.S. Federal agency GIS program. The GIS Developer is responsible for all aspects of the application lifecycle to include requirements gathering, storyboarding, design, development, documentation, and deployment. The candidate will execute the responsibilities of a GIS Developer, which include:
Provide support in the development and/or configuration of geospatial applications, tools, and scripts to meet functional area requirements.Assess, plan, design, develop, test, integrate, administer, maintain, support, and document new and existing applications and tools.Coordinate with stakeholders on application development requirements.Maintain and create geospatial application program interfaces (API) to include Esri's ArcGIS Server API's (JavaScript, REST and Python).Ensure development activities are performed in compliance with all agency and Federal policies.Integrate geospatial data and applications with mission business systems and relational databases.Use industry best practices for continuous integration and continuous development / deployment of applications.Qualities:
Eager to learn new technology and integrate existing skills within a new industry.An above average communicator, comfortable with technical writing, as well as public speaking.An active and collaborative team member.Highly organized and able to support several projects at one time.Possess a desire to immerse yourself in location-based problem solving to support our client's missions.As an employee of

of the GIS Developer:
Bachelor's degree in geography, planning, computer science, engineering, GIS, or a related field.Minimum of 10 years of experience in application development with 5 specifically in a geospatial environment.Must be able to pass federal background checks.Demonstrated proficiency with ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal for ArcGIS/ArcGIS Online.Experience with multiple JavaScript libraries (Dojo, jQuery, Leaflet, etc.) and leveraging past and present versions of geospatial software programs including Esri's ArcGIS products (ArcGIS Server, etc.).Proficient with .NET, JavaScript, HTML 5, CSS, Python, and Java. Must have familiarity with RDBMS software including but not limited to Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.Experience documenting code and performing version control using industry standard tools.The following are
desired capabilities and experience
of the GIS Developer:
Experience working within a large, U.S. Federal agency enterprise GIS program.Certifications (GISP, Security+, Esri, AWS, Azure, etc.).ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, and Portal for ArcGIS Administration experience.Experience with enterprise geodatabase management.Knowledge of Cloud services and concepts.Experience with software development projects using the Agile methodology.Ability to work independently and proactively to take initiative to solve complex problems.Excellent writing and communication skills.
