Hawkeye Hotels is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director of Sales supporting the Holiday Inn Express New Orleans/Arts District.

Main Responsibilities:

To promote the image and services of the company to maximize growth through gaining new clients and contracts.

Follow up leads by visiting prospective clients regularly.

Submit timely and accurate sales reports to the company in terms of actual results of room bookings through cold calling, internet marketing, telephone solicitation, and community involvement.

Achieve or better budgeted sales targets.

Identify prospective clients' needs through questioning, observation, and completing a full sales survey.

Act upon opportunities to achieve maximum RevPar through yield management strategies.

Entertain prospective clients, combining this with visits to existing satisfied customers.

Liaise closely with operational staff on all details for a prospective new contract.

Maintain communication with the client once the contract is opened.

Analyze statistics to identify key sales areas, problems, and success rates.

Collaborate with Team Members to ensure positive approaches towards the property’s guests.

Research prospective client details for a professional approach.

Monitor competitor activity in the assigned market.

Present a realistic proposal to a prospective client based on thorough research.

Be aware of new business opportunities and proactively react for the benefit of the properties.

Perform other duties as necessary to achieve successful marketing of the property.

Maintain an active role within local community organizations.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

Qualification in hotel sales or related hospitality industry desired; management or senior supervisory experience in hotels; proven ability to sell.

Communication Skills:

Must be able to read, write, and understand English; write concise reports; speak with poise and confidence; manage meetings and speak to large groups; communicate with staff members who speak/write limited English; possess an outgoing, sales-minded personality.

Accounting Skills:

Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
