Senior Ecological Consultant

will function as a liaison between environmental regulators and our client base. The applicant must demonstrate the ability to understand and effectively communicate complex ecological and regulatory concepts to both subject matter experts and clients. In addition to possessing high-level ecological fundamentals, excellence in written, graphic, and verbal communication are prerequisites to the position.The Ideal CandidateEnergetic

– Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and remain flexible.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesConduct field work producing wetland delineations, imperiled species investigations, and plant community identification and mapping.Generate high-quality maps, sketches, and other graphics for technical reports and environmental permit applications.Utilize Tremble GNSS equipment to manage and manipulate spatial data.Author various reports and technical documents.Coordinate production schedules with colleagues and support staff.Assume professional accountability to clients, managers, and owners.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Biology, Forestry, or other Environmental Science.A valid driver’s license with a good driving record.Proficiency in wetland delineation with demonstrable experience.Strong understanding of sediment biogeochemistry and wetland hydrology.Proficiency with Tremble GPS and basic office computer systems.Ability to identify key ecotonal plant species and hydric soil indicators.Constitution suitable for strenuous outdoor work in harsh conditions.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree with thesis.Substantial industry experience in the Southeast, particularly Georgia.Professional certifications such as Professional Wetland Scientist, ISA Arborist, Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner.10+ years of industry experience.EEOC StatementUES is committed to embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion to create a workplace that welcomes and thrives on the unique experiences, perspectives, and contributions of all team members.
