YOU

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for several aspects of accounting and assist with external reporting of a publicly traded company. You will own certain aspects of operational and technical accounting to serve as a subject matter expert of these accounting areas. As the Senior Accountant, you will report directly to the Assistant Controller and work with upper management on occasion.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

(% of Time)

Accounting and reporting (60%):

Own prepaid, capital assets, leases (ASC 842), self-insurance, and goodwill & intangible business processes.Administer capital assets by performing periodic audits for asset tracking purposes and proper accounting of existing and acquired assets.Manage capital projects to ensure costs are appropriately captured, accounted, and classified on the consolidated financial statements.Collaborate with upper management in assessing impacts of M&A transactions on the business processes that are owned.Collaborate with FP&A team to assist with annual budgeting process of the business processes owned.Determine monthly expenses (amortization, depreciation, prepaid expenses), and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure expenses are accurately and timely allocated to all legal entities.Prepare account reconciliations and journal entries of several centralized functions including capital assets, ASC 842, prepaid, and liabilities.Collaborate with business partners to review, conclude, and operationalize leases under ASC 842.Assist in researching technical accounting matters to determine potential changes to existing processes.Prepare quarterly and annual asset impairment evaluations.Assist in preparing financial statement disclosures, engage in balance sheet and P&L variance analysis, and support quarterly reviews and annual audits.Conduct ad-hoc analyses and build financial models to inform strategies and make recommendations.Assist in preparing certain period-end accounting workpapers and disclosure.Compliance (25%):

Own several company world-wide accounting policies and procedures to ensure conformance with US GAAP and other financial reporting compliance, laws, and regulatory requirements.Maintain adherence with the Company's system of internal controls over financial reporting and collaborating with the internal audit team to ensure operational and design effectiveness of controls.Work with finance team on timely and effective external audits and internal home office audits.Contribute towards streamlining accounting systems and processes, including assisting with the introduction of digital and/or robotic process automation, with the goal of achieving greater efficiencies and accuracy in the level and timeliness of reporting.Relationship building (15%):

Maintain positive and collaborative relationships with all levels of management (including branches), consultants and external auditors within the organization.Collaborate with all levels in the organization to identify and analyze gaps between current processes and the desired state, design new processes and develop process performance.Represent the Company in the utmost professional and ethical manner and in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and applicable laws; especially when addressing complaints, resolving problems, and all other supervisory responsibilities.Ability to collaborate across different functional teams with the goal of providing best in class customer service.DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in accounting - requiredCPA -preferred5-7 years of owning the desired areas at large publicly traded companies2 years of experience in SAP, BPC, Sage FAS, and lease accounting software solution.Skills and knowledge:

Finance / Accounting Skills: Strong understanding of US GAAP, SOX, and SEC regulations.System Skills / Knowledge: Knowledge of SAP (S4/Hana preferred) functionality and business application preferred and BPC or similar required.Communication Skills: Ability to write in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience. Respectful to others where differences of opinion exist. Able to listen carefully and resolve conflicts through understanding other points of view.Work Environment: Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, as well as in a collaborative team environment. Must have a proven track record for rolling up the sleeves and diving into the details when necessary.Analytical / problem solving: Excellent organizational, consultative, analytical, detail oriented, and problem-solving skills.Self-Management: Self-motivated and results driven. This job operates in a professional office environment where standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. are frequently used.

Travel

This position requires domestic and international travel up to 10% of the time.

This is full-time exempt position located in Pleasanton, CA.

Pay

$85,800 - $137,300 / year, plus bonus
